Dr. Jessica Hudson, PhD.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
As a clinical psychologist I’ve had extensive training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide variety of mental health issues. I received my PhD from DePaul University and have worked in community mental health centers and hospitals before entering private practice. My clinical specialties include anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship and family issues, life transitions, sexual and gender identity processing, and fertility and postpartum concerns. I work a great deal with LGBTQ+ clients and have familiarity with the unique needs of the community.
I try my hardest to connect with each individual client, build a relationship based on trust and support, and tailor my approach to best fit them. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and open. I am direct when needed and love to incorporate humor. I use an integrative approach based largely on cognitive-behavioral therapy, which aims to teach clients how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected and then how to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns. I am familiar with working with people from many diverse backgrounds. I bring a feminist and social justice perspective to my work.
I live in Rogers Park with my partner, 2 children, and cats. I enjoy biking by the lake, dabbling in various crafts, and coffee.
